“But you’re not dating this world’s Mark.” He grinned with fond amusement.
“That doesn’t mean I’m fair game! My life doesn’t revolve around you!”
“But mine does.”

Summary
Vox and Valentino have been fighting all day, oscillating between vicious heat and scornful ice.
Still, they crawl into the same bed when night falls, whether it be decades of habit, convenience, or something far more stubbornly tender.
Unfortunately, Vox's stomach is upset tonight - which under normal circumstances could be easily relieved with a shared chuckle, a playful spank, and a return to domestic camaraderie. However, Valentino is mad. When he's mad, he's cruel.
TLDR: Valentino makes things worse for Vox, then makes things better. There is Mean Val and Doting Lover Val. And Vox is an asshole crybaby who, unfortunately, cannot help wearing his emotions on his sleeve, especially when he is tired, sick, and embarrassed.

“Our money,” Val corrected cooly, and Angel heard a loud bang as though Vox had punched the wall.
“You’re cut the fuck off, Val. I can’t have you bringing the company down with this petty bullshit,” he shouted.
“Oh, but I thought that I couldn’t bring the company down,” Val crooned in his most dangerous voice. “After all, I’m just filler content, right?”
A thick silence fell after that statement.
“I didn’t…” Vox paused. “That’s not what I said.”
“Oh? Want to run back the recording, baby?”
