ABSTRACT
Due to the short Ocampan lifespan, sexual reproduction is crucial for the species continuity. Many scholars (EMH, T’Dak, Glorb) have detailed the sexual reproductive cycle of the Ocampans, but there have not been relevant studies regarding their inter-species cross-compatibility. In that regard, I argue that Talaxians are particularly well-suited to mate with the Ocampans. Taking the EMH’s seminar studies in both Ocampan and Talaxian physiology as a basis to understand how each reproduce, I claim that their biological peculiarities make it possible for both species to successfully reproduce, and I present the results of a case study in which I analyze the advantages and disadvantages of such process. The paper is set to validate the hypothesis that, despite the short Ocampan lifespan, reproduction between the two is viable if not necessarily recommended or easily achieved.Keywords: Ocampan, Talaxian, inter-species cross-compatibility, sexual reproduction, sexual mating, hermaphroditism
