Now, don’t get him wrong. Being a hero is super cool. It’s, like, basically his dream job and it’s been exactly that for as long as he can remember. He wouldn’t have rows of comic books on his shelves back home if he didn’t idolize heroism and what his profession stands for. He just wishes things were as simple in real life as they are in those comics. Heroes win, villains lose. But the real world isn’t so cut-and-dry. The real world isn’t black and white.
Especially for Hawks in particular, it’s seemed his life has only consisted of shades of grey as of late.

Some corner of Min-Gi's mind kept trying to tell him that this wasn’t sustainable, that he was hurtling towards a cliff’s edge and sooner or later he’d go over it and take Ryan down with him, break them both, break their friendship and their band and literally everything he had and it would all be over. He didn’t want to believe it. He wanted to believe he could just keep pushing this down forever— because even in his most optimistic moments, he knew the way he felt was never going away.
