"Rocky did not understand human names and titles when we met. Eridian names longer, give information on Eridian's home, associations, skills." For the first time in ages, he positioned two of his arms together, forming the design that Grace thought of like a family crest, a single design bisected.
"You should teach me to read those before we get to Erid, so I can be polite." As Grace considered the linework, already picking up on some vague ideas from the shapes in Rocky's carapace, something else occurred to him. "So… I picked 'Rocky' because your outer shell looks like stone."
"And for inspirational story of athlete who defeats human system of poverty to become great champion. Eye of the tiger."
"Retroactively, yeah." Grace bent at the hips, getting to Rocky's 'eye' level. "So what'd you name me?"

Summary
Ryland Grace was no stranger to people talking behind his back. He knew what people said about him and Stratt: that he was her little science lapdog, that he followed her around like a lost puppy. Except, he never expected her to actually call him a puppy. Or that it would make him more aroused than he'd been in years. Being her stupid dog after being an expert scientist all day was addictive. He was hopeless.

Summary
A series of short fics exploring Grace and Rocky's friendship, among other things. (Each chapter is its own story; I just wanted to have them all in one place.)
Chapter 1: Rocky thinks humans are equally disgusting and cute. Somehow, through it all, Grace reminds him of home.
Chapter 2: Rocky can pick Grace up easily, and Rocky thinks it is very funny. Rocky and Grace tease each other.
Chapter 3: Eridians bring Grace their babies for him to see, and Grace learns about Eridian culture/religion. Grace is also bad at taking compliments.
Chapter 4: Rocky makes Grace celebration jewelry. Later, Grace gets a similar gift from Adrian.
Chapter 5: Grace and Rocky tease each other, and Rocky is introduced to the idea of throwing things at your friends. He decides that humans are odd, but maybe aren't all that bad.
Chapter 6: Grace tries to convince Rocky to swim, but Eridians don’t typically like deep water because they are heavy and will sink/drown. Grace learns about some Eridian mythology.
Chapter 7: Grace talks about the lack of support teachers have on Earth. Rocky is confused by this.[This has a limit, so new chapters will have their description at the beginning of the chapter instead]

Summary
“Ouchhh.” I moan, still holding my belly, “Whyyyy?”
The familiar clunky sound of Rocky’s footsteps in his xenonite suit grow steadily nearer as he scuttles over. I must’ve alerted him with my griping and groaning. So much for not being a bother.
He stops near the foot of my bed.
“Rocky heard Grace make noise.”
“Sorry about that,” I say, voice muffled.
“No apology, Grace.” He scolds, “Am worried, not bothered. What is wrong, question?”
“My tummy hurts.” I say matter-of-factly into my pillow, “And I’m being a big baby about it.”

Grace hasn’t had someone to take care of him when he’s sick in a long, long while. Having forgotten that he’s lactose intolerant, he’s now battling an upset stomach, which Rocky is determined to soothe. Grace finds that Rocky’s help may be exactly what he needed.
