Damen’s been simultaneously dreading and looking forward to the start of kindergarten. The hours are more regular than preschool was and they have a good aftercare program, so he can always pick her up, but he’s worried too. It’s a lot of change and lord knows Penny’s been through enough of that already. Now this. All the posts on the mommy Facebook chat for the incoming kindergarten class have said that ‘Mr. de Vere’ or Laurent (God, is he French or something?) is the only strict kindergarten teacher. Some parents call him mean, others say it’s just a bit of a different style, but he’s the most stern of the bunch and when classroom assignments were emailed out this evening, low and behold. Penny is with the one asshole of all the teachers for her grade.
