Summary
At almost thirty-one, Park Jimin has achieved the ultimate millennial dream: a thoroughly mediocre corporate existence that demands absolutely nothing of his soul. He has his ergonomic chair, his perfectly timed commute to avoid elevator small talk, and a flawless system of mutual procrastination with his work-bestie, Hoseok. His life is boring, ordinary, and exactly the way he likes it.
Then their boss hires Jeon Jungkook.
--------Jungkook was standing up, leaning his forearms over the low fabric partition that separated their desks. He was smiling brightly, pointing a finger directly at Jimin's monitor.
"I saw the little 'Jimin is typing' bubbles popping up on Slack for like two minutes, so I figured you were taking a break from your presentation," Jungkook said, completely oblivious to the murderous intent radiating from Jimin's soul. "Since you're answering now, I can just walk you through my notes! It's super fast, I promise."
Jimin slowly slid his headphones down to his neck. His sanctuary was breached. His code was under attack. Synchronous, unprompted communication was happening.
His boring, ordinary life was officially over.

Summary
He always feels a bit like they’re stuck in a race where Jungkook is faster than him. Where he’s miles ahead and unreachable in a way that’s unfathomable. Where Jimin is struggling to keep up and is forever destined to stare at Jungkook’s back, a hand perpetually extended to try and reach for him.
Jimin doesn’t want to surpass Jungkook. He just wants to run alongside him. As an equal, as a friend, as a partner. Is that truly so much to ask for?
Or: Following the end of their Vietnam trip, Jimin stumbles across a video compilation of the rocky relationship he had with Jungkook at the very beginning of their debut years. Slapped with a blast from the past and suddenly drowning in insecurities he thought he'd long suppressed, he decides that slowly pulling away from Jungkook is the only right thing to do.
Jungkook, however—a redeemed man, a pining expert, and someone with an extremely low tolerance for any kind of space between them—has much to say about it.

“I just need your knot,” Jungkook replies stubbornly, “I can do everything else by myself.”
Silence. He probably finds you weird , Jungkook’s mind notes. He’s never been your regular sweet and submissive omega. Alphas tend to find that appalling. Why would Jimin be any different?
“Okay,” Jimin says carefully, his scent politely muted, not giving away his feelings. “I can provide that.”
