it's finally their last year of high school. the big finish to the positively most morbid years of their life. but, just as they enter with the hope their year will be a good close off, the static of the announcements ripples through the courtyard.
bruce yamada is popular. he was once part of a trio that consisted of himself, griffin stagg and finney blake, but it fell apart in their freshman year of high school. bruce joined the baseball team and found his talent, and got picked up by the popular boys. the ones with teeth as straight as their grades and letterman jackets. plans thinned out, group chats went dry.
watching bruce get popular, griffin tried to find his own calling during freshman year. and, eventually, he did. he found a group of quiet kids who blended into the background just like he did, and unfortunately left finney behind too.
finney was left to eat lunch in toilet stalls dodging bullies, unable to make an actual friend who didn't just want math answers.
on the other side of the spectrum was the delinquents.
soon they would meet, and be forced into friendship with none other than vance hopper, robin arellano and the local paperboy.

Summary
Thomas didn‘t know what he expected to see but not a whole room covered in white. Everything was white. The bed, the sheets, the walls, the ceiling. Hell, even he himself was white. He could use some sunlight.
He looked around the room. Another bed but empty. A small closet next to the window. A chair, another chair and another chair with a sleeping boy on it.
Wait.
Why did this boy seem like someone he should recognize? It took Thomas one, two, three seconds to puzzle the picture together.
And then he let out a scream, high pitched because his voice wasn‘t in use for some time. It sounded raspy and barely like his own voice but Thomas felt the vibrations in his neck so he was sure he was the one screaming.
Or: Thomas and Stiles are twins and Thomas wakes up in Beacon Hills after everything that WCKD has done to him. While trying to navigate in his new life he finally has time to understand some of his feelings. And maybe he can help his twin with his own. But when their grandparents suddenly come to visit everything becomes to much.

Summary
Robin doesn’t understand. He turns, and if his hand passing right through his mamá’s didn’t cause him to lose it, then seeing his body lying in a hospital bed does it. His head is wrapped in bandages, and he’s hooked up to monitors with tubes in his mouth and nose. His eyes are swollen shut, and his skin is blue and purple with dark bruises. He almost doesn’t recognize himself.
“Chingada madre,” he says, panic whipping through him. “¡Estoy muerto! I’m fucking dead!” He paces around the room, his hands on his head.
Or, Robin doesn’t die…but he’s not unscathed. Some things stay the same, but so much is different.

Nearly a year after the fall of WCKD, life at Safe Haven has settled into something quieter than Thomas ever thought possible. People have started building homes instead of shelters, the island finally feels safe, and although the grief never really leaves, Thomas has learned how to live with the memory of Newt’s death.
Then a boat washes ashore carrying survivors from the mainland and rumors about an organization operating beyond the coastlines left behind after the collapse of the Last City.
At first, Thomas tries not to think much of it.
That becomes impossible the second he starts hearing details that sound far too familiar.

Thomas is real depressed, has no hope and some randos tell him that Newt is alive.
