Summary
Kara is at the end of her nursing shift when a violent man is brought in with an arrow wound. When he spits blood on her, Kara is transported elsewhere. Soon she's doing emergency wound care on book characters and trying not to lose it. She can't watch people suffer even if it isn't real, but Aragorn is very suspicious of a woman who tells no clear story and smells like an orc.
“Stranger things have happened than you or I have years to tell of it," Gandalf said. "Why does she unsettle you? Surely you do not feel threatened. I am tolerably certain you could defeat her if it came to violence.”
Aragorn scoffed at his gentle humor. “I’m glad to amuse you. There are more dangers than warriors and swords. Need I tell a wizard that?"
“I can assure you she is not evil and has not a whisper of magic.”
“Yet a beautiful woman appears directly in our path, leagues from civilization, and immediately gains the hobbits’ trust. No wizardry, you say?”
Kara was not *unhappy* at being called a beautiful woman (although his standards for human women, as opposed to elves, were probably low), but she was unhappy to be stuck eavesdropping. She’d seen this scene too many times in movies. They would definitely see her. -

Summary
Faramir runs away, Maglor commits another kidnapping, Elrond and Arwen make their fathers proud.
--
Maglor was not good with children, exactly. That had always been his elder brother’s purview. But Maglor had raised or helped to raise half a dozen children. Those instincts didn’t go away, even after so many centuries unused.
He knelt beside the sobbing boy on the beach, bringing his face down level with the mortal child’s. “Are you hurt, little one?” He shook his head. “Are you lost?” No. “Do you just need to cry for a moment? It’s okay if you do. Everyone needs to cry sometimes.”
Those little hands pulled away from his mouth for a moment. “Not m’brother. He never needs to cry. He’s not weak like me.” He sniffled.

After the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry Potter helped with the rebuilding and then went back to school, sitting his NEWTS and graduating with the rest of what The Daily Prophet called ‘The Disrupted Class.’ Following that, everyone expected him to become an auror. Harry himself expected it, right up until the moment came to apply to the academy.
He takes up a hobby instead, and it leads him to a whole new world.
