Of all the people on earth that Daniel would ever guess to be on the other side of a text like that? Alice is at the bottom of the list. She walked out on them, leaving a little girl alone with her junkie dad who didn't know how to cope without the love of his life. Why would it be her? That'd be insane.
(But of course, Armand knows he is insane. He has always been insane with the extremes to which he will go for the ones he loves. Daniel simply cannot recall that detail or so many others about their relationship. At least, not at the moment.)

When Marko woke up hours later in the darkness of the cave he was all alone and most definitely human.
Which was just as terrible as any death.
He stood on weak limbs, exhausted by the fall from his perch and his bodies recovery and transformation into being a human once again. It’s been eighty years since he’s last been hurt like this, last woken up cold and thirsty and completely alone.
So he started walking.
Or: Michael trying to get a group of stubborn lost once-vampire-now-human boys into appreciating their newfound mortality while also trying not to fall in love with them (and failing miserably.)

The Lost Boys survive the fight at the Emerson house: Max does not. Though their survival does not come without severe injury. Lucy Emerson, being the gentle soul she is, takes the boys in until they recover. Sam and the Frog Brothers will just have to deal with it.
