"Up here, Chief Justice," Zhongli coaxes, his cupid's bow lips quirked upward in amusement. "I must say...you've done very well so far." He gazes down patiently; hand cupping Neuvillette's left cheekbone.
"I expected nothing less of you," he continues. Through the window behind him, the evening sun casts Zhongli in a regal halo, his skin shimmering with gold that matches the tips of his hair.
How unpleasant to be reminded of exactly who sits above him — Neuvillette forces his eyes closed and groans. He is not often found on his knees; Neuvillette is the Chief Justice, and he is far from pious.

“Of course it doesn’t make sense!” Velite snaps, his eyelashes almost brushing against Argenti’s cheek with every blink. "There's nothing 'beautiful' about dying!"
His voice goes high at the end, a tremble of disbelief mixed with panic that makes the shock in Argenti settle strangely—almost with satisfaction. He shivers, biting the inside of his cheek to hold back a nonsensical smile.
This sort of fierce devotion, of fear for his sake, it’s… “Beautiful.”
AKA: When Argenti fulfills his promise, and returns to take Velite home, there's a few things that aren't left unsaid.
