    “You are not gonna believe what I found,” Jabber said, revealing what he had apparently been hiding behind his back this whole time. And holy shit was he right, because the absolute last thing Zanka had been expecting the man to show him was a baby. A fucking baby. He had to pinch himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

    Jabber held the baby up to Zanka’s face, “Doesn’t she totally look like she could be our daughter! See, she’s even got your weird striped eyebrows.” If Zanka had the energy he would punch him.

    Or: Two idiots impulsively adopt a baby and now have to figure out the best way to simultaneously raise it while avoiding their growing feelings for each other.

    People got lost here all the time. The place was a maze. Usually adults, looking to buy something illegal and ending up getting sold illegally instead. Kids were different. They cried and panicked. They, for sure, didn’t fight back.

    And yet this one was.

    He grabbed the kid and started walking, tugging him along without much thought. He didn’t know where he was going. Or why. He just knew he wanted to spend more time with him.

    There was a tug in his chest. He felt… happy.

    Zanka.

    That was the kid’s name.

    Zanka, you’re the first interesting thing I’ve seen in a while.
