Here he was, definitely about to cry because his husband was crying because their daughter was crying because of a vaccination she needed and would not remember and would be better for having received.
Keith murmured something into Lily's hair that Lance couldn't catch over the wailing—something low and soft and not meant to be overheard. Lily didn't stop crying, because she was four months old and completely uninterested in anybody's input, but she curled her small fist in the fabric of Keith's shirt with the particular grip of someone who is furious but also, ultimately, not going anywhere.
Truly, her father's daughter.
You absolute disaster, he thought, with sickly sweet tenderness. I love you so much its genuinely embarrassing.

“I like you,” Lance says in a rush.
Keith blinks.
“That is—” Lance clears his throat, shifting his weight uncomfortably. His hands are still in his pockets, his shoulders still hunched. “I like you—I like-like you. Like, in a more-than-friends-way like you.”
For a long moment Keith can only stare at him, astonishment and disbelief and cautious delight warring for dominance. And then, because he’s an idiot, because he spent a whole goddamn year in a goddamn shack in the middle of the goddamn desert and has no idea how to be a socially competent person, because he’s Keith, he says, “That was a lot of the word ‘like’ in one sentence.”
In which Keith has about a dozen chances at happiness, and sabotages (nearly) all of them.

Lance broke up with Keith, disappeared for months without a real explanation, and now has shown up in his life with the brilliant idea of asking to be friends again. Worst part? Keith said yes.

Pidge shrugged, "Your guess is as good as mine, mini me. At the moment, time travel seems the most likely hypothesis."
"So those two are..."
"Our replacements, yes," she replied, pointing first to Noelle and then to Rex, "This is our heir, her name is Noelle. The big boy here is Rex."
