He stared at his hands and didn't feel sad. It was hard to explain. He just felt—absent. A little removed. Like he wasn't quite there. Like he wasn't fully tethered to his body.
That was the thing about his life. So much of it had already happened, and he hadn't been there for it.

You know the heroes. We've all cried while reading their stories, sometimes from joy, sometimes from sorrow. We love the heroes, not because they're strong (even if they are) but because they have the courage to do what is right.
Kings crave power. If you're searching for them, go on your way. We do not speak of them here. It's not about power.
But what about the Queens and the ones who will become Queens (the Princesses) ? What makes a ruler, well, a ruler ? Wisdom, of course. They've got wisdom. And like courage, it comes in many shapes.
