Summary
LeClaire’s hand is still on his shoulder, and Ilya knows that it doesn’t look like anything. A coach speaking to one of his players. LeClaire’s heat seeps through his suit jacket, and his breath is a warm, damp wash of air against Ilya’s ear.
“They’ve finished up with the awards,” he murmurs. “You look like you’re ready to get out of here.”
Ilya nods tightly and sets his drink down on the table.

Gregori Rozanov was bad in many ways, but Coach LeClaire might have him beat.
Shane Hollander has something to say about that. It turns out a lot of people do.

“He made a fucking run for it.” Wymack said, and despite the gruff, angry grind to his voice, Andrew could hear the concern. “He's high as a kite, Andrew, catch him!”

Summary
He honestly thought they were going to make it.
David understood that adrenaline could make time feel like it was crawling by; make seconds turn to minutes turn to lifetimes. He’d experienced it before. But when a man to his left, up next to Andrew's lot, raised a bottle high, red flushed face contorted in a sneer, he felt time slow to molasses around him.Series

Summary
Neil should have been more careful. He should have understood that just because he was Neil Josten and not Nathaniel didn’t mean that everyone had forgotten who his father was. He was reminded every day of history he’d much rather forget when he looked in the mirror. He was learning not to hate his eyes, but it had become clear that not everyone shared that sentiment.
Someone—Neil wasn’t sure who, and frankly, it didn’t matter—retaliated for the death of his father. In a way, Neil supposed his father's death was his own fault. It was supposed to be an evening run, a few miles just to clear his head. He’d been having nightmares, and he decided that this was the healthiest way to process all the information his brain was feeding him. He didn’t expect the evening to turn red with his own blood. It did, though, and Neil emerged with another bullet wound, a few more scars, but most importantly, no more death on his hands.
He ended up at Wymack's door, banging on it with the hand that wasn't busy stopping blood from exiting his shoulder. "Coach?"

Summary
Dear Andrew Doe,
I am not picking one of the pen pals that’s in California or whatever. I am going to write a fake name and a fake address and send this letter to a fake person. The teacher won’t let me leave until I send this to someone.
Bye
Alex*
Neil Josten sent fake letters to Andrew Doe for years, thinking they disappeared into the void.
Andrew Minyard received every single one.
