Summary
A groan escapes the mouth of the man, and Nagi feels himself begin to be dragged toward the shore. He doesn't find it within himself to care. He does, however, miss the feeling of the water as soon as he's practically thrown back onto the sand.
"Who are you?" He asks, finally finding it within himself to talk.
"Wow, you speak! Thought you'd gone dumb from hypothermia by swimming in the ocean during Autumn!"
"I'm Nagi Seishiro."
"Great, and you almost died," the guy responds, seemingly unimpressed with Nagi's lack of explanation, "I'm Reo."
Nagi glances down at where the other's legs should be, instead coming face to face with a tail, "You're a mermaid?"
Fate has never treated Nagi nicely. His life has been, as one more vulgar would put it, shit. His life was boring, monotonous, tepid, anything of the like. That is, until he met a mermaid-- until he met Mikage Reo.

The chair made a screech sound as Nagi abruptly stood up. He haphazardly shoved the folder right back into his backpack, and before Reo knew it, Nagi was halfway down the aisle, waving loosely over his shoulder. “Thanks but no thanks. Bye.”
