Connor learned a handful of things about himself that night, Gavin was forced to be a willing ear as he rambled his way through self discovery one evening. He liked men, exclusively. And getting bent over by them was the most effective method of resetting his never ending stream of thoughts and concerns. He remembers Gavin’s eyes avoiding him and the wise advice to ‘download a hookup app, stop making this my problem’ following soon after.
Entering the tail end of the first semester of his last year in school, Connor's insistent need to task manage starts taking a toll on his productivity and output. A lifelong need to be perfect with no proper outlets of managing stress results in the worst possible coping mechanism. Gavin's negative influence doesn't seem to do much in putting Connor back on a straight path.

Hank has been relegated to the nightshift and patrolling after struggling with Cole and his wife's death for too long. Captain Fowler hopes he'll be able to fix himself out there. One night, hungry and bored, Hank comes across Confections by Connor and decides to warm up with a snack. He finds more than a warm cup of cider, and the looming string of holidays might not be as awful this year.
Connor has run his own business for a few years now, after some failings. When a gruff looking policeman walks through his doors, Connor finds himself head over heels and wondering how much more of his life his family will judge. But with some help from Hank and his friends, maybe this holiday season Connor will find more of his confidence in himself.

Summary
When life gives you a freedom you had been unknowingly fighting against, you get left stranded in your own metaphorical hell. Connor struggles with trying to feel alive, and where he's meant to belong. Hank struggles with getting used to having another presence in his space, and getting used to the ever growing feeling that Connor means more to him than he originally thought. Markus, North, Josh, and Simon struggle to keep the peace between androids and humans as people slowly return to Detroit and androids try to integrate into every day life. Kara, Luther, and Alice contemplate staying in Canada in hiding, or returning to Detroit, all while trying to understand what it means to be a family. Gavin can't seem to adjust to the circumstances one case puts him in, but slowly he learns how to get over himself and open up to the new face in his life as well as confronting a past he's been constantly running away from.
There is no right way to be human, but that takes time for everyone to learn.
