Summary
Anthi Papadimou thought her life was about to change when a prestigious research company took interest in her unpublished paper about ancient pathogens within the leftover volcanic matter of Santorini.
For the first time, someone believed her work truly mattered.
Three months later she found herself a prisoner on a volcanic island near Santorini, her family is being used against her and the people funding her research have revealed themselves to be something more dangerous than scientists.
When an American agent named Leon S. Kennedy appears in the middle of her escape attempt, Anthi quickly learns two things:

The thought of Leon making an excuse just to visit you more often made your heart flutter, though you knew better than to let it get to your head.
“Oh, now you're using your position to justify your sweet tooth?” you joke. “Careful, Officer Kennedy, or I might start thinking you have a secret sugar addiction.”
“A secret sugar addiction? Me?” He takes another sip of his coffee, enjoying the banter between you. “I have a highly disciplined metabolism. Besides… there’s something much sweeter around here that interests me more than caffeine.”
