You kept a careful balance between friendship and pining, at least until your sixth year when the balance was broken during the Yule Ball due to an unexpected comment by Percy Weasley. As you were mortified by the interaction—and by the fact that another person was aware of your feelings for Fred and George—you refused to tell the twins about what had transpired.
Fred and George didn’t take kindly to being in the dark about whatever secretive conversation occurred between you Percy and they relentlessly dog you in order to find out. Pranks, chaos, manipulations, and arguments ensue until your friendship is almost at its breaking point. But convenient use of the Room of Requirement solves all the problems.
