Eddie usually hates it when strangers touch him but this feels different. He lets himself lean into the touch. The man’s hand is so soothing. “How about this. Let’s stick together tonight, hmm? Rest our broken hearts together.”
“Okay,” Eddie says before he can think about it too hard. Everything feels so strange right now that he's open to anything. And it sounds better than standing in the corner all evening sulking. “I think I’d like that.”

Tommy throws a house party. Eddie pines over Buck. Tommy's friend offers Eddie some companionship.

“I’m pretty sure you can read, Buck,” answers Chim, popping his gum. Usually, Buck wouldn’t be irritated by that, but Chim’s the interim captain due to Bobby’s cruise, and everything gets on his nerves.
“I can read,” Buck huffs. “I’m just confused. How does this work?”
