Summary
Jason’s mind was reeling. “Someone can see us?”
He’d tried everything he could think of to get Bruce and Alfred’s attention since he became a ghost. But even physically floating through their bodies hadn’t elicited a response.
She laughed. “Crazy, ain’t it? I don’t know if he’s a meta or what, but all the ghosts are talking about him.”
If there was someone out there who could see ghosts… then maybe…
Jason had to find him. “Who is he?”
“He’s known by many names… Veil Walker… Reaper… Half-Pint.”
Jason sputtered. “Half-Pint??”
“That’s the wildest shit. It’s a kid. Like a middle schooler.” Delilah threw out one of her hands. “And he’s out here wandering Gotham every night and chatting up the dead.”
Jason could only stare at her. Processing. A kid who could see ghosts... What was this? The Sixth Sense: Gotham edition??
———
Jason was murdered by the Joker. Tim can see the dead. They find each other.

Absolutely incredible I’m obsessed with this (it is a standalone story and even though there’s some things that a potential part two would help tie up the possibilities are making my imagination go wild instead of being unsatisfied so I’m definitely gonna wanna reread this soon)

Summary
He smiles, all teeth, “Come on Replacement, I even got to the door with both legs busted. This should be nothing.”
“You’re right. Jason… Jason wouldn’t have given up. He would fight, I can still—“
The boy wobbles, and Jason has to suppress the mortifying impulse to jump to his aid.
“I can still fight. Batman needs me.”
“That’s a terrible idea,” he muses aloud, and if there’s a hint of real concern somewhere under all the roiling green, well, nobody can prove it.

Summary
“Wayward Wayne Heir Arrested After Late-Night McDonald’s Altercation,” Dick read.
“Arrested?” Bruce repeated, one hand braced on the table.
Dick squinted at the photo. “Yeah. Police cruiser. Multiple officers.” He hummed. “He looks— honestly? Mostly annoyed.”
“Todd is painfully Predictable,” Damian said flatly.
“Is he hurt?” Bruce asked.
“Doesn’t seem like it,” Dick said. “He’s still arguing with someone in the picture.”
Dick leaned closer to the page, eyes narrowing.
“Oh,” he said, brightening. “This gets better.”
“It does not get better,” Bruce said faintly.
Dick read the caption aloud. “Brother Timothy Drake-Wayne appears nearby during the incident, reportedly uninvolved.”
He looked up, delighted. “Tim.”
“Yes?” Tim said, lifting his mug innocently.

Tim is prepared to take the steps necessary to ensure that Bruce will not feel obligated to adopt Tim when a comatose Jack Drake inevitably dies. But what could be better than preventing Bruce from ending up with a son he doesn't want? Bringing back the one he does.
Jason agrees to the Replacement's stupid, stupid plan to invite some strange adult man he's never met to come live with him, if only to keep the idiot alive long enough for him to serve his purpose in the Great Red Hood Revenge Scheme.
Might this new roommate situation have an impact on either of their worldviews? Surely not...
