Goro briefly wondered if this Halloween would be the third year in a row that they ended up asleep in each other’s arms, but Akira wasn’t even here yet.
Or, at least Goro thought he wasn’t here, until the scrappy brown haired kid in the kitchen took a breath to tell Goro what his own name was and was interrupted by Goro suddenly spinning around on his heel to face the door the instant he heard Akira’s laugh from the entryway, and he was already moving towards the direction of the sound before the flat-haired kitchen guy could say anything else.

Summary
Akira Kurusu is, by all means, a smart person.
He had always topped his class despite all the rumors that he was a gruesome murderer; he was not only the leader of the infamous Phantom Thieves, but he was also one of their main strategists. He had learned shogi and chess at the same time, despite how different and strange his mentors were. He was even able to land a good university despite his record!
While he knows that he isn’t Makoto-level booksmart and not Goro-level streetsmart, he knows that he isn’t stupid. Though everyone has flaws. And that includes Akira.
He’s quite stupid when it comes to love.
“I think Goro wants to break up with me.”
Ann chokes.
(Or. Akira thinks Goro wants to break up with him. Goro is stressing over the proposal. Ann is tired of her best friends.)

“You’re telling me,” Childe says, his voice increasing in pitch with every word, “that you—you, the fancy funeral consultant who lectures pigeons and alphabetizes his tea cabinet—you’re biologically wired to marry the first person you screw and stick with them forever?!”
Zhongli, impassive: “I wouldn't put it quite so crudely.”
Childe: “You wouldn’t put anything crudely, you gilded fossil!”
Zhongli arches a brow.
Childe slams his hands on the table. “Do you realize what this means?!”
“No,” Zhongli lies. Zhongli, whose tail is curled just slightly tighter around the leg of his chair. Zhongli, who is starting to suspect he may not survive this breakfast with his dignity intact.
“It means,” Childe says, eyes blazing with the sort of deranged glee only possible from someone who once tried to flood a nation as a workplace prank, “you’ve already picked me!”
In which Childe learns dragons mate for life and becomes completely insufferable about it.
