He pulled Pete in for another kiss. Pete shoved him, hard, and Vegas fell back a few steps. He was breathing fast, his palms flat against the door. Vegas hadn’t seen him this scared in a long time.
“What’s wrong?” Vegas asked.
“I need you to shut me up,” Pete said. “I don’t care how. Use your belt, your shirt, I don’t care, just don’t let me talk.”

Summary
Pete isn’t going to say that it leaves his mouth without his permission because that would be a lie. He knows exactly what he’s saying as he’s saying it, because he and Vegas have always been different in their anger.
Vegas explodes viciously. He burns bright and far too hot and anyone in a nearby radius gets caught up in the destruction.
Pete burns like ice. His anger is a silent and controlled thing, a leashed dog that is no less rabid for the collar around its neck.
So when he says it, he knows exactly what kind of effect it’s going to have.

Pete becomes Vampire Vegas’ human helper. He’s the one responsible to bring food (people) to Vegas. He has to prepare it (bleed them) in a neat little glass too, because Vegas is the sort of vampire (weirdo) who doesn’t like to drink directly from his victims. It’s not like Pete (liar) wants Vegas to drink from him anyway.
Or the one in which Pete's blood tastes terrible and Vegas doesn't bite people, yet they can't help themselves.
