There was a cake neatly placed on the small table of the room. It was garnished with whipped cream and chocolate decorations, and a little crown made of sugar was placed right on the center of it, similar to the necklace that the birthday boy used to wear around his neck. The crown was surrounded by candles and, before blowing them, Sora counted the candles carefully one by one.
“Roxas, I admit that I can be a bit childish sometimes, but I think I have passed thirteen years long ago. Is there something you want to tell me?”

Roxas sighed, resigned, feeling almost betrayed by his sister, and slowly walked towards them.
“If Xion comes with you, then I’ll be with her. She’s too young, she can’t take care of herself” the kid replied, crossing his arms to his chest, with the cutest pout they’d ever seen.
“Sure you do, just admit that you’re looking forward to it!” Lea chuckled, picking Roxas up and making him sit on his shoulders. Roxas, taken aback, grabbed onto the first thing that was within reach – a strand of Lea’s wild red hair, and pulled hard, in fear of falling.
Lea let out a wail of pain and Xion bursted out laughing. True, they had just met a dozen minutes before, but Isa was already head over heels about his new family.

At this, Tomo smiles at him, warm and slightly crooked, familiar in a way that dissolves the last of the hesitation in Kazuha’s heart. “Wouldn’t dream of it, Princess.”

“What if,” Tomo continues, completely ignoring the exasperation on the edge of Thoma’s voice. “What if I ask him to be my tutor?”
Ayaka stares at him like he’s grown another head. “Excuse me?”
“You said he’s the ace, right? So he must be busier than anyone else. That means he must be, like, really stressed out—I’ve been an ace, I would know—and that means he could use some help. Right? Do you get where I’m going with this?”
Thoma looks absurdly confused. “No, but you’ll keep going anyway.”
“It’s a mutually beneficial agreement!” Tomo exclaims, slapping his hands together in excitement. Taroumaru slightly startles from his napping spot beneath the coffee table. “He helps me out with my grades, I basically act as his butler until his tournament is over with. I get into the Kendo club and get to spend time beside a really cute guy. There’s no way he doesn’t need help, right?”
“I think you’re insane,” Thoma points out helpfully.
***(Or: Tomo has just lost his spot on the Kendo club when he meets a boy. Hopeless pining and family issues ensue.)

Summary
Tsuzuru was a planner, if nothing else.
He liked to be prepared with every motion that he could come up with. He thought ahead, planned as if he were going to breathe his last breath otherwise, was persistent and constantly on schedule. That was why he found himself in a frenzy of planning of a proposal that he felt was a long time coming.
And today? Today was the day he was to propose.
Will all of his efforts lead to him and Kazunari finally taking a step forwards towards tying the knot so to say? Or will he only make a fool of himself? Only time will tell.
