For all that his old friend was prone to tears and snot at the drop of a hat, he appeared almost serene in his anguish now. Resigned. It wasn’t a look Madara could bring together with the image of a boy who hadn’t been deterred from his impossible dreams of peace for over a decade of ridicule and bloodshed. That boy would never have given up on his brother.
