However, when Momo turns down a very high profile fan, she learns just how quickly the public can turn on you. A scorned fan was one thing, but a scorned fan with a lot of money, influence and the son of the new Hero Public Safety Commission President was an entirely different beast.
Momo loses so much but in the midst of the storm gets closer to and realises her feelings for her long time best friend (maybe even crush) Shōto, who stays by her side through it all.

He answered immediately not missing a beat, “one of the best.”
Her brow furrowed, all amusement gone, “why?”
He looked at her, debating if it was in his best interest to return the same honesty, he was asking from her.
“Momo,” he took the liberty of calling her by her first name, because after everything was said and done, if she decided to accept his offer, they would be close enough to be on first name basis, “I don’t believe in charity. Many like to think when they give—when they help—they do so out of the kindness of their hearts. I don’t believe in such fantasies. Even if it’s for the gratification of your own ego, your own self, we all do things expecting something in return.”
She looked at him as if she was finally taking him seriously.
“I need something from you, just like you need my skill to get you out of here. I’m offering a give and take deal.”
