Summary
It is well known that Nara Shikamaru is the clan heir. It is nothing that surprises him as he knows he has duties and responsibilities that must happen that he will eventually have to take over.
That includes marrying and continuing the line.
It is one less thing he has to worry about, after all, that has already been arranged.
What he doesn’t know is how much his fiancée will make a difference in his life. For better or for worse.

Kakashi learned how to live without needing anyone. War made that easy. By the time it ended, there was nothing left but survival and silence.

“No—stay with me,” Kakashi says, voice breaking, hands shaking as he tries to hold something he cannot fix. “Naruto—look at me. You don’t get to leave me. I can’t—” His breath fractures. “I can’t do this without you.”
And the worst part is that he means it.
There is no line he would not cross. No consequence he would not accept.
Because this is not something he will survive.
As the world begins to warp around him, as his control finally gives way—
