Summary
Okkotsu Yuuta has always been good. For all his life, that’s what he was called, at least– a good baby, a good student, a good son. He’s been told by family members, teachers, and even strangers he stopped to help on the street that he’ll make a good husband someday. He’s spent his life being so good, that he’s not really sure what bad looks like.
Inumaki Toge is a whole other fucking story.
Inumaki is bad. A total rebel. The type of bad that barely asks for forgiveness and couldn’t care less about permission, the type of bad that looks the part: punk rock, black leather, and metal piercings. The mischievous glint in his eyes, shining like crystal above his mask, is too alluring for good boys to resist. And so, by osmosis, they start to flirt with being bad, too.
And Okkotsu Yuuta thinks it’s what he’s been missing all his life.
(Or: In their second year of university, two half-broken boys take the long way around to each other, and stumble a lot as they go.)

“Shouldn’t Okkotsu-senpai… see someone?” Yuji’s voice was hesitant. He was the last to learn what was going on. Most of the time, the situation was treated somewhat casually. Toge himself treated it casually sometimes, because otherwise he had a feeling it would make it a thousand times more serious for Yuuta if he were to make it serious.
“Yuuta is stubborn,” Toge said. “Whether he sees someone or not, this is how he is.”
“So he’s tried seeing someone before?” Maki asked.
Toge nodded. “Several times.”
“And it didn’t help,” she concluded.
“No,” Toge said.

When they were eight years old, Yuuta, Toge, and Rika were involved in an accident that left Yuuta relatively unscathed, Toge with some lasting injuries, and Rika dead. Yuuta is attached, constantly afraid something will happen to Toge if he’s not there to stop it. And Toge is, in his friends’ opinion, too unbothered by this.

Regulus follows James with his eyes. He examines the unruly brown hair, the red t-shirt clearly a size too small—stretching over his chest and arms—and the grey sweats that are more wrinkled than the aged skin of Bellatrix’s neck. He watches as James grabs a ginger beer from the fridge, pops it open, and takes a long drink, noting how his Adam’s apple bobs beneath the stretch of his throat and how his golden brown skin looks underneath the kitchen light.
Regulus waits for him to look back.
He doesn’t.
OR:
Regulus transfers universities to be with Sirius after their parents die. James is a complete asshole about it. He has his reasons.
