Summary

Rey's getting ready to lose it. Between Beaumont's snark and the obscure ramblings of the so-called Jedi sages, she's about ready to throw something...probably one of the fiendishly undecipherable sacred texts...and most likely at Beaumont. It doesn't help that on top of it all, she's pregnant with a baby who flatly refuses to tell her what its gender is, no matter how many times she asks, and all she wants is to be with the one man in the entire galaxy she can't reveal she loves.
It's kriffing hopeless!
Having a heart-to-heart with her Force-mate's mother when she's this stressed out is probably not the best idea, right?

Summary
This all began with a rather whimsical question: What the heck was Ben Solo doing or thinking about for all that time that he was left standing in the rain after Rey left him on Kef Bir?
Trying to answer it, I set out to write a short one-shot to dig into my favorite character's head. Then ... it got complicated. I suddenly decided I wanted to make a major change in order to include something that couldn't be shown in the films, but that I'd desperately wanted since TFA came out in 2015. So, I added a second (significantly longer) half to the story to fit in the plot twist. Then, my fingers kept typing ... and kept typing ... Suddenly, I had the beginnings of an epilogue on my hands, but couldn't fit it within the scope of the story I'd set out to tell. Soooo, I marked "When Angels Fall" complete and then moved onto the next part that's morphed into a rework of the ending of The Rise of Skywalker.
Serendipity? It's up to you whether you think so, but I'm quite happy with it. I hope you find something that brings you joy or solace, if TROS left you feeling a bit down.
