He hadn't been trying, Kafka reflected, looking at the slumbering form of the teen curled up in a ball. Ichikawa was just a kid. Just a kid. He was reckless in his own right, with a stubborn determination set ablaze in his soul, and he needed someone to look out for him. That someone just happened to be him. He hadn't been trying to parent, just be a protector in his own way.
And yet, he thought, lightly running his fingers through Ichikawa's messy hair, maybe Dad wasn't all that bad a title. Even if it was given unintentionally.

Summary
Tales of Arise plays with idea of touch, and I'm looking to expand on that with all of the characters. Will feature the Canon pairings, and a lot of introspective thoughts into the characters themselves. Perhaps an extended character study surrounding the concept of touch in general? I'm still not sure, but I have a writing bug and this seems to be the result.
In short, expect both romantic and platonic relationships being explored between the characters.

Summary
For generations there have been stories about the Ulrics. They have coeurls blood running through their veins, they say. It shows when they protect what belongs to them. Do not come between an Ulric and what they consider theirs. The consequences will not be pretty.
Of course Nyx knew the stories. He just never gave much stock in them, not after he failed so miserably in protecting his family. Then a mission goes south and something in him wakes up. It's old and wild and animalistic and oh, there must be more to the old stories than he thought.
It gains the attention of Insomnia's upper crust and suddenly everything is different. Suddenly the rest of Eos is confronted with powers they have written off for thousands of years. Powers that may just be the non-lethal solution to the ancient prophecy Regis is so desperately looking for.
