It makes his suffering moot, strips away the weight his time served had left on his shoulders.

    Unfortunately, leaf politics remain discoursed enough for Itachi to still murder the Uchiha clan, leaving Sasuke as orphaned, alone, and as full of hate as he originally was.

    Fortunately, Minato and Kushina couldn't allow Mikoto and Fugaku's poor son to fend for himself after experiencing something so horrible
    And Naruto would rather die than leave his (sasuke) rival alone after seeing him make such unforgivably despaired expression

    It seems Sasuke owes this family his life, and owes Itachi his death
