Xiao coughs lightly, “Don’t be foolish. I am merely offering my aid, as I’ve heard that child-rearing can be… a lot to handle on one’s own.”
Aether should have known it wouldn't be easy, raising a child, let alone raising one with someone he may or may not be developing feelings for. It certainly doesn't help that the child almost looks... exactly like them.
