Summary
“Am I too boring for you?”
He doesn’t mean to ask. Doesn’t mean for those words to come out. They fall from his lips before he has a chance to stop them, and the second they’re out there he wants to take them back. He wants to swallow them down so they can’t hurt anyone but himself.
Because Ilya…Ilya flinches.
“What.”

Shane couldn’t believe he had actually been talked into doing this.
It had all started last week with wanting to answer those stupid questions that are meant to make people fall in love. Shane knew he and Ilya didn’t need them per se, they were already in love and married for a year at this point. But Shane couldn’t help but feel sometimes that there were still so many things he didn’t know about his husband. They had been together in some capacity for over 13 years now. But so many of those years were spent denying their feelings or sneaking around. They had really only been together every day on a regular basis for a year. He wanted to know so much more than he did. He wanted his knowledge of Ilya to match the length of time he knew him. So he thought sitting down and answering 36 questions together would be a good idea.
That was until they got to question 5:
When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?

Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov go to a karaoke bar.

Summary
Shane had planned the pregnancy down to the week.
That was the joke everyone kept making, anyway. Not that it was inaccurate.
The third trimester was supposed to land perfectly during the off season so Shane could avoid flying, avoid media appearances, avoid unnecessary stress, and ideally spend the last stretch of pregnancy resting quietly at home with his husband.
Instead, the third trimester was destroying him.
He was tired all the time. Not regular tired either. Bone-deep, miserable exhaustion that made him want to cry if he had to walk upstairs twice in one day. His back hurt. His hips hurt. His knees hurt. His ribs hurt. Sometimes his skin hurt for reason.
Or. Pregnant Shane shorts.

How the hell did that asshole charm his mother - someone who hated him to her core yesterday - so much that she was hugging him in public. Shane did worry a bit about possible fans taking photos, but it was Vegas at 7am at an airport where everyone is just trying to get to their gate. It should be ok.
Now the crazy part. Rozanov is coming to the cottage.
