“Hey… do we really have to record this?” Yuuji’s voice came out rough, almost muffled, his eyes still fixed on his hands that kept fidgeting in his lap.
Satoru leaned in, wrapping his arms around the boy’s torso and resting his open palms over his chest. He could feel Yuuji’s heartbeat under his right hand, fast and slightly uneven, like the fluttering of a trapped bird. He rested his chin on the sharp bone of his shoulder, letting his still-damp strands of hair brush against Yuuji’s cheek, cold water from the shower still dripping from the white locks.
“No one else is going to see it, Yuuji,” he murmured, his voice soft and warm against the lobe of his ear. “Just you and me. We can delete it afterwards if you want… or keep it for when I’m on a mission and miss you too much.”
