“I- I'm good. You're here?” Kate said intelligently. Then, a bit more coherently, “Why are you here?”
“Do not be so stunned, Kate Bishop. You asked me out for drinks. I have brought drinks.”
Yelena comes back after Hawkeye. Kate comes back after Thunderbolts*. Over the course of about three years, they fall in love.
Very slice-of-life, but also very angsty. It's a fun time! Mind the tags. Rated T for themes.

Everywhere in the mortal world is warm, they had thought. Everywhere is beautiful. But then winter comes, and they can't quite find that same beauty in the world.
Or, it gets as cold as the underworld got. Li Does Not deal with it well.
Or, I rewatched GKLH and was struck by how often Li mentioned how warm it was in the mortal world. Then I thought, this is not a person who's experienced winter in the Midwest. Then I wrote this.
