Hinatsuru stepped forward, her expression softening as she looked up at him. “We've noticed that you seem to avoid Tengen-sama and us whenever the topic of...deepening our relationships comes up.” She glanced at the others before continuing. “We were wondering if there was something we did wrong or if there's something on your mind.”
Rengoku's smile faltered. He took a deep breath, trying to gather his thoughts, struggling to meet any of their eyes. “It's not that I don't appreciate Tengen’s interest or your kindness. It's just...complicated.”
“Complicated how?” Makio demanded, crossing her arms. “We deserve to know.”
Rengoku could feel his face heating up and glanced around to ensure no one else was listening in.
“If it's that you're a virgin, we already know that.”

Steve's situation came to him with startling clarity. Could he hook up with a guy? Who took the...girl role? What if they didn't agree, was it over before it began? He might cry out of sheer disappointment if that happened. What if Eddie asked for something he'd never done? A concern since Steve hadn't done any 'guy stuff'. God, he really was the worst gay ever! Bi, he reminded himself.
There was nothing for it, he'd have to tell Eddie he wasn't getting laid, Steve was a bust and he'd see himself out. All thoughts evaporated as he saw Eddie. It didn't feel so scary. Eddie stood brazenly with scars falling down his neck to his chest and over one arm, and if he could be so vulnerable, so could Steve.
Or...Robin and newly bisexual Steve try to navigate their first foray in to a gay bar and dating. They're hopeless. Eddie takes Steve home and leads him through his first experience. They bond over past injuries and Steve slowly learns to bare his body again, which had been hidden for too long. He's anxious and scared and self conscious, but he's sure of one thing, Eddie. This is a tale of awkward dating, even more awkward first times and the softness that comes with finding your person, two sides of the same coin.
