Troy was just placing the tray of coffee and food on the desk, shrugging his bag off his shoulder, when he heard the door behind him open. He turned around, ready to greet his boyfriend, only to feel his brain short-circuit the second he laid eyes on him.
The last time he had seen Harris, he had been standing in their bedroom in his boxers and a graphic t-shirt. A shirt not so dissimilar to the kinds Harris usually wore to work, only in public, they were often paired with pants and a sweater, maybe a jean jacket.
Right now, Harris was dressed in a suit.
And he looked really, really good.

Harris Drover, of all people, is having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit this year. He had been excited to spend his first Christmas with Troy and make new traditions as a couple, but it’s Christmas Eve, Troy won’t arrive until tomorrow, and Harris is on a strict deadline.
When Harris receives a curious challenge via social media for a special Christmas Eve scavenger hunt, he enlists the help of the remaining Centaurs players to aid him in his quest.
Will this turn out to be the best Christmas yet? Harris can only hope so!

Last night had been the best night of Troy's life. He'd scored two goals. The whole team had wrapped rainbow tape on their sticks and he had kissed Harris in front of reporters. His mother had surprised him by showing up at the game, and he'd told his father to go to hell, all in the same night, then come back to his apartment and fucked his boyfriend twice.
Now he was lying in bed while Harris made GIFs about all of it.
It wasn't a complaint. It was just…weird. A weird morning. He was out. Out and proud.
Troy had been so focused on coming out that he hadn't thought much about what the morning after looked like.
Turned out, the morning after was pretty chill, except his fucking phone exploding.

The morning after Pride Night, Troy Barrett is out, in love, and has absolutely no idea what comes next. Harris Drover has the best job in hockey and the worst comment sections. This is their first year: the press scrums and scandals and playoffs, the house in the country and the giant dog. The slow, steady work of two people building a life together.
