    For once, Rocky didn’t comment on my leaking face. Didn’t call me gross or make fun of me otherwise. So I did it for him.
    “Yeah,” I sniffed, half-laughing through it. “Humans leak, ew.”
    Because, well—
    This might be the last time I ever cried.
    “No, Grace leak as much as want. Is okay!” Rocky rushed in immediately, all urgency and overlapping chords.
    “Well, you weren’t going to, so someone else had to do it.”
    He paused. “No understand. Is joke, question?”
    “Yeah,” I said, sniffling a little. “It’s a joke.”
    “Still no understand humor.”

    This Is Fine. This is totally, completely, utterly fine.

    (Grace sounds like a pebble. This, alongside Eridian's extended lifespans, kicks off a chain of misunderstandings that Grace would find utterly mortifying if he knew what the heck was going on.)
