Summary
Vincent Whittman has spent years perfecting the art of being untouchable—every smile rehearsed, every word calculated, every flaw hidden beneath immaculate lighting. But when a ratings slump threatens his throne, the network sends him to New Orleans to chase a story he wants nothing to do with.
Instead, he finds a city that breathes too close, a case that refuses to stay still, and a stranger whose calm smile unsettles him more than the murders he’s meant to report on.
Vincent came to cover a story.
He didn’t expect the story to start watching back..

Summary
Set in 1930’s New Orleans: ‘Sexual intercourse with another man was out of the sphere of what Alastor ever intended. Sexual intercourse with anyone at all was out of his sphere (or it was supposed to be, and really, just invading this particular sphere of Alastor’s was enough to earn Vincent Whittman a place on his next-to-be-killed list). But he must adapt. He could not, would not die yet, and not because of some humiliating mistake he’d done while summoning a demon, and trapping said demon in a fucking sex circle.’

Summary
“The city speaks, dear listeners. Just not always loudly enough for those who aren’t paying attention.”
Vincent Whitman has always known how to listen.
What begins as curiosity becomes something far more dangerous. After all, some people are meant to be understood. Others are meant to be chased.
-Sent to New Orleans in pursuit of a story, Vincent expects something he can control, shape, and serve back to America on a silver platter.
Instead, he finds Alastor, who picks apart every thread of the mask Vincent has spent his life constructing, leaving him exposed, filthy, and raw.
And for reasons Vincent refuses to explain… he finds himself liking it.Bookmarked by Literary_space

Summary
Something is wrong with the Whittman boy; Alastor can see that the moment he sets eyes on him.
Driven by curiosity, Alastor toys with this peculiar creature, fascinated by the reactions he can draw from a boy both so like and unlike him. He doesn't yet know if he wants to teach him or ruin him, but either way, 13-year-old Vincent is a monster too intriguing to resist.
But it turns out there's more to this boy than it seems, and Alastor quickly finds himself in over his head and discovering things about himself he never expected. As the lines between mentorship and romance blur, Alastor begins to wonder if he'll regret taking on his too-eager apprentice.

OR: A meandering relationship study with lots of porn and a problematic age gap, and a healthier relationship dynamic than you'd expect. (Don't get me wrong--they're still psychopaths and it's still unhealthy in a lot of ways, but they have genuine affection for each other and everyone's basically happy.)
