Volenta looks at him with her eyes betraying that the Lady Inquisitor Prime is gone and it’s just her, just Volenta, between them. Stripped not only of clothes but of rank and most likely of any thought. She reaches further behind her, angling her hand so that she can grip the back of his head and her fingers tangle tightly into it, making Heinrix smile.

You want to keep getting to know them, continue sharing their space and them yours – that could be the loneliness in you talking, your psyche just desperate to hold onto the first bit of friendly human contact that you’ve had in you don’t know how long, but you don’t care. You want to hold onto it, nurture it and see what it can blossom into.
