After a severe qi deviation, Shen Jiu found himself at the mercy of an alien “system” that claimed it would guide him to the "story’s endings." It gave him choices for actions and dialogue but most of the options he wanted were locked behind a paywall requiring CNY or USD, which he had no idea about. Frustrated, he was forced to pick the free-to-play options, all of which were absurd, uncharacteristic, and infuriating. He had told the system a million times that he isn't a "player" but it ignores him like it doesn't care.
(In summary it's as if Shen Jiu is playing Episode, and he has no choice but to go to his mom's funeral in a clown costume because he's broke and doesn't have gems to pay the game LMAO)
