The next afternoon looked like it had been painted just for them, sharp blue sky, cold sunlight, not a hint of wind. Perfect patrol weather. Perfect everything.
Kirishima was hyped.
He and Bakugou had spent almost the entire school day glued together. They’d walked to class together, sparred briefly in the training yard, sat together at lunch shoulder-to-shoulder while Bakugou pretended he didn’t like when Kirishima leaned into him. Hell, Bakugou even gave him one of those sideways looks, the kind that said you better not ditch me later, shitty hair.
