Summary
Annette Hebert has a secret. Fifteen years ago she buried a white costume in a lead-lined box, walked away from the name Power Girl, and swore she'd never fly again. She made that promise to a dead husband, kept it through twenty-three Endbringer attacks, and channeled the worst of her frustration into red-penning undergraduate essays and arguing with her daughter about milk.
Then Taylor developed powers.
Then the Endbringer sirens went off.
Now Annette is standing in low Earth orbit holding half an Endbringer, her daughter is holding the other half, and the promise she made to Danny is in pieces alongside the monster.
A story about a Kryptonian woman who tried to be ordinary and her half-Kryptonian daughter who never wanted to be. About fighting gods in leotards and fighting over the grocery list in pajamas. About the difference between the mask and the person wearing it, and what happens when you stop pretending those are two separate things.
The world has Supergirl now. It's getting Power Girl back whether it likes it or not.
Brockton Bay will never be the same. The milk will still be wrong.

The Harry Potter Vegas Vacation challenge! But I don't write fanservice, and I tend to write characters as... you know people. As in the kind of individuals who don't wake up married to a stranger and decide that everything is perfect. Harry gets what he really needs. A young woman that can kick his ass, give him some backbone, and be terrifying enough to give his enemies nightmares. Taylor might just get a chance to destress in a "relatively" low risk environment for a bit while finding whole new ways to be deadly and terrifying. Things... might work out? Trigger Warnings!!! Blinking, Lillie looks towards the area that Kiawe was looking in, and, sure enough, there were six desks.
“That’s what we were wondering before Lillie came in, though we thought we would be getting two new classmates,” Mallow says.
“The Professor should be here soon,” Lana reminds them. “He’ll know.”
They ponder over the extra desk for another five minutes when Professor Kukui walks in-
“Alola, class!”
-and the answer to the extra desk as well.
(Ash moves to Alola and the shenanigans begin again.)
