"It's a finicky thing," his mother had warned. "People like to talk about it as though its huge and powerful, can turn an apple into a tree, someone who hates you into your best friend. But it's never quite as simple as just that. It's an art form, and it's complicated."
It was because Jungwon had seen his mother at work for so many years- because he had watched her cast spells to turn apples into trees when she needed more flowers, had watched her craft gentle potions of luck for their neighbors- that he really should have known better to trust in Choi Beomgyu, who was possibly the worst witch he'd ever seen.

Keeho swallows but his pride forgets to accompany the saliva that slides down his throat. “No.”
Keeho’s hand is finally freed. It’s cold and numb and tingly and Keeho swears he can still feel Shota throbbing into his touch. All that’s there is air.
“Can I anyway?”
Or, Keeho hates how badly he wants Shota.
