Summary
Carl loves his new job as a forest ranger. Solitude, peace, quiet, a chance to walk barefoot on the moss, and an old log cabin to live in with Donut. Even though he's broke as shit and all the other rangers say his new post is haunted, he's content. He doesn't believe any of the old superstitions about stick people or ancient entities or bigfoot living in the woods.
He probably shouldn't have walked barefoot, though. Now the legends believe in him.

Summary
The dungeon's over, and the AI assumes his help rebuilding Earth will bring him and Carl closer. But, to his dismay, Carl still blames him for all the suffering the dungeon caused. It doesn't matter what the AI does, he can't seem to get Carl to see him as anything other than an enemy.
In desperation he hatches a plan, something he thinks Carl won't be able to ignore. However, like everything else he's tried, it spectacularly backfires. Instead of Carl learning more about who the AI is, the AI learns more about what it means to be human than he ever wanted to know.- Language:
