Baela tightened her grip on Jace’s hand as the doors to the Great Hall swung open. They were not late- Jace would never allow them to be truly late- but they were perhaps fashionably on time. He had grumbled about it as they walked here, but he could not be too upset at the reason. Besides, they wouldn’t be quite so late if he hadn’t insisted on putting clothes on while she was trying to take them off, so he was partly to blame.

Ewron took a deep breath. "Since forever."
"You tried to sabotage my business," Katie growled, pushing him hard onto the wet grass and pulling out a dagger from her pocket. "You betrayed me. Some things never change, do they?"
"I didn't join them," Ewron defended himself, unfazed by the lingering blade. "I would never."
"And then you act so innocent, denying everything," She snarled, simmering in the light. "I hate you because of that, you know that? You liar."
"I don't know what else to tell you," Ewron told her, in a chokehold.
"I'll cut your throat," Katie hissed over him. "That'll make you shut up."
"You're beautiful…" He whispered back, a longing look on his face.
"Get the fuck out of here. NOW."
