He’d been used to struggling to avoid Hawkeye, who popped up whenever Grian least wanted to see him and had always been stupidly hard to shake off, worse once they got to know each other’s patterns, but when it came to Scar– well, but of course Scar would be the same way–
“You can see him under the exit sign,” Mumbo elaborated, stiffening with concern as Grian stood up, “and oh, hang on, you are not actually leaving me. I thought you said whatever it is wasn’t a big deal!”
“It’s not,” Grian lied. He stood up and gathered his papers in their complementary folder, smooth and calm and definitely not fighting a lump in his throat.

Cuteguy’s arm was badly bruised and a thin line of blood was trickling down his leg. It was almost invisible if not for the keen eye of the hero. The fight went well, but a few skeleton hybrids got a lucky shot on Cuteguy. It barely nicked his leg, but it still bled nonetheless. Hotguy himself had taken quite the beating from a zombie hybrid, but he was used to the constant injuries from fighting.

“With constantly having to worry about saving your butt? Never.” Xelqua laughed playfully, a blast of concentrated redstone coming out of his dual pink and white pistols.
The two stood with their backs against each other, grinning in confidence as they looked over their shoulders. Xelqua’s wings were open and on full display, glossy hot-pink feathers gleaming in the night. Ever since the vigilante’s recovery, he had made a swift return to fighting on field again, ready for whatever threat faced him and Hotguy next.
