Summary
Aziraphale tried not to stare. Bad enough that he’d been put in this mortifying position with a stranger; worse that the stranger was undeniably attractive, all fiery hair and sharp cheekbones and mesmerizing eyes. But that laugh took a face that had been handsome but forbidding and warmed it, like striking a match. Crowley had been uncomfortably alluring while cold with rage. In laughter, he was devastating.
No, he had to stop this. The only thing more humiliating than what had already occurred would be if this stranger realized how very attracted he was. -

Crowley was leaning back against the trunk of a tree, buried in shadows, face tipped toward the starlight. Aziraphale came up the path, settled on their bench, and said nothing.
Eventually, Crowley said into the silence, “Do you know the star just over the top of that tower, angel?”

“You were with me when I made it,” he said, as if this were not the first time in six thousand years he’d spoken of his life as an angel. “That was the first time we kissed.”
There was a quiet intake of breath. -

Summary
And now the angel was gone. The demon leaned limply against a tree. His eyes slipped shut, and for the first time in weeks he stopped fighting all the pain. Just let himself feel it.
There was a quiet fluttering sound, not typical of the animals of the Garden and very close. The demon opened his golden eyes and stared straight into brilliant, smiling blue ones.
“Found you,” said Aziraphale.

Summary
Crowley looked down at that picture of Aziraphale crying in the park, and wondered if it was possible for an angel to die of a broken heart.
He got on a plane that night and went home. He cleaned the dust from his flat with a wave of his hand and dropped a new potted plant on his windowsill. Then he sat down on his throne, and he started to plot.
