There was a clatter; a clunk. The doors came to a juddering halt, and slowly started to reopen as a well-manicured hand grabbed the edges and brought them to a stop.
“Hold the doors please!”

His heart.
The doors slid open, revealing her, inch by glorious inch.
Black dress. Pointed heels. Loose hair.
Slipping her purse onto her shoulder and running a finger below her glossy lips.

The words died out as she raised her head and met his eyes. Her finger stilled at the corner of her mouth, and he saw her chest contract as she let out a sudden breath. He reached a hand out to the closing doors, moving to the side and making room for her almost on autopilot.

Tim shook his head and grinned smugly. “It would be so easy to seduce you, Boot.” He picked up his glass and ran his thumb over the condensation in slow, smooth circles before bringing it up his lips and finishing off the last of the whiskey in one long gulp. “If I wanted to.”
