Summary
Becoming a vampire came with an onslaught of firsts.
First drink.
First kill.
First death-inducing walk in the sun.
For Louis, these came forcibly and furiously within twelve hours of his turning - but at least they were, in large part, expected (well, less the sun part - that he learned with some difficulty, a small grievance he still held with Lestat).
There were "firsts" however, that he did not expect which snuck up on him like a jungle cat preying on a hatchling: 1 that disappointed him, 1 that surprised him, and 1 that touched his maker.

Finally binged and loved Interview with the Vampire (in defense of late blooming, I'm sadly, highly squeamish).
Here in my fantasy headcanon (without budget or time constraints), I offer extended/deleted Loustat scenes, starting with their courtship in 1x01, the aftermath of Louis' turning in 1x02, more jealous Lestat in 1x03.

Summary
Louis, not long after killing Bruce and his coven, is sent back in time by a witch to Auvergne where he gets to see Lestat, as he was before he was tuned. Human, not yet burdened by the dark gift. He should focus on finding a way home, but how can he focus on anything other than his lover, innocent as he has ever seen him be? And so when Lestat makes for Paris, what else can Louis do but follow?

He doesn't know what compels him to find Lestat, after everything is done.
Perhaps it's the emptiness, the deep void he can almost see spreading within himself. Perhaps it's just the loneliness, or the need to be with someone who knew her, and loved her. Someone who can understand.
Or maybe it's just the fact that he really, really, misses him.

Louis decides to meet with Lestat after killing Bruce. What he finds there is not exactly what he had expected.
