Different one shot collections, can be assumed to be cannon-compliant unless stated otherwise. They'll all be within the same universe interpretation (I have a whole timeline about when the kings were adopted and when things fell apart etc that I'll be sticking to for these). Most of the interactions, especially between the kings and Komatsu, can be read romantically but generally won't be tagged as such unless the romance is the point of the piece.
